2025 Captains & Sponsors Announced!
For this year's winter league, we have assembled a great captain crew! All of which have SWOLL experience and make sure that locker rooms are a good time + positive vibes.
If you're new to SWOLL, each year, we get 84 players from southwestern Ontario to sign up and join the player pool.
Then, in late November, before the winter season, each captain will draft their team's from the player pool in hopes that we create even squads and that players are distributed to meet and play with new people.
We still have spots available, so you can sign up to throw your name into the league.
Our 2025 Captains:
TAYLOR BEST - THE FALCONS
A product of the Cambridge Lacrosse Association who has a long career playing and coaching within the organization. Taylor is the only captain to lead a team for every year of SWOLL. Arguably one of the best locker room guys. Taylor creates a strong locker room culture, and although hasn't won a Championship (yet), everyone on the Falcons has a great time.
CAM COUGHLIN - THE MUSKIES
Cam is returning as the captain of the Muskies, coming off of a 2024 SWOLL championship and one of the most dominant teams that SWOLL has had. Cam is also a product of Cambridge minor lacrosse. He also had a great career with Elora Jr. B, Wellington Sr. C and coaches the Highlander Jr.B team. All around great guy, keeps lacrosse fun and loves to win.
NATHAN JOYES - THE POLARS
The ageless wonder! Our elder statesman can run cirlces around some of the youngest SWOLL players and is still going strong. Nathan won the SWOLL championship in the first 3 years of SWOLL as a player, jumped into the captain chair last year and had a decent showing. Nathan always has a positive attitude in the locker room, and knows a lot of the players around the league. Nathan has a long lacrosse resume, most recently in SrC lacrosse and executive for Centre Wellington lacrosse.
SCOTT HUMMEL - THE WOLVES
After a quick SWOLL captain retirement, Scott Hummel is back to lead the Wolves who won the SWOLL championship 2 years ago. Scott is a KW Lacrosse product and has spent time with Wilmot Jr. C, KW Sr.B and most recently with Khaos Sr.C. Scott is a very chill captain who is out there to have a good time with the boys. Far from a lone wolf, playing for the Wolves is always a good time!
