2026 Championship Weekend

SWOLL Championship Saturday 🏆
The final horn has sounded, the arena lights have dimmed, and the SWOLL season has officially come to an end. Championship Saturday delivered exactly what we love about this league: pure heart, overcoming adversity, and dominant team performances.
As we close the book on this season, let's take a deep dive into how the final games played out and reflect on the macro storylines that defined each of our four incredible franchises.

The Mega Bowl: Bucks Dig Deep to Secure 3rd Place
Final Score: Bucks 11, Polars 5
The battle for 3rd place was a true test of endurance and willpower. The Bucks arrived at the arena with a noticeably short bench, meaning everyone in green had to play heavy, exhausting minutes. Despite the fatigue, they completely controlled the pace of the game, wearing down the Polars with a relentless transition attack to secure a decisive 11-5 victory.
The Bucks jumped out early and never looked back, riding a monster performance from Matt Waters, who put the team on his back with a 6-point afternoon (4 Goals, 2 Assists). Damien Dewbury and Sean Campbell provided crucial secondary scoring, netting 2 goals each to keep the momentum rolling.
The Polars fought hard but struggled to string together consecutive scoring runs against the Bucks' ball possession. Colten Besse led the push with 2 goals, while Carter Teneycke and Tyson Brown each chipped in a goal and an assist to keep the fight alive until the final buzzer.
Team Storylines:
-
The Bucks: This will go down as the "season that could have been." The Bucks played some brilliant lacrosse this year and proved their ceiling was incredibly high—after all, they were the only team to topple the champion Wolves all season long with that massive Week 1 upset! While they fell just short of the finals, their ability to grind out a Mega Bowl win with a short bench proves the incredible character in their locker room.
-
The Polars: This team is the definition of heart. Despite taking some tough losses in the standings this season, they battled fiercely every single week. The true testament to the Polars' culture? They had phenomenal attendance and dedication right up to the very last game. They never quit, they played for each other, and they were an absolute joy to watch.
The Snell Cup Championship: Wolves Claim the Crown!
Final Score: Wolves 13, Muskies 4
The highly anticipated main event changed its complexion before the first faceoff even took place. The Muskies were forced to play the biggest game of the year severely short-handed, missing their star Arena Lacrosse League (ALL) players: Shane Halliwell, Dylan Gillespie, and Koichi Nakamura.
Taking out that much offensive firepower is a nearly impossible hurdle against a team like the Wolves. The #1 seed smelled blood in the water early and swarmed the depleted Muskies, building a massive lead with back-to-back scoring runs and cruising to a 13-4 victory to capture the Snell Cup!
This game was a masterclass in the Wolves' depth. They moved the ball flawlessly, with Kyle Rushton, Richard Haan, and Chase Forsythe all recording matching 4-point games (2 Goals, 2 Assists each). Jack Fitzpatrick also added 2 goals to the onslaught.
Facing an uphill battle, the Muskies still played with immense pride. Eric Forster did his absolute best to spark the offense with 2 hard-fought goals, and goaltender Nolan Ezekiel even managed to snag an assist late in the 3rd period, proving the team was competing until the final seconds.
Team Storylines:
-
The Muskies: A fantastic group of guys who really came together as a cohesive unit as the season progressed. Unfortunately, their season will always carry the heavy label of "What If?" Missing their top snipers on the final Saturday robbed them of the chance to truly test themselves against the league's best at full strength. Still, their run to the finals was spectacular.
-
The Wolves: Total, historic dominance. The Wolves have officially recorded the second most dominant season in SWOLL history—eclipsed only by the legendary, undefeated 2020 Hornets captained by the retired Steve Cooke. They achieved this historic run not by relying on a single superstar, but through relentless, suffocating depth on both offense and defense. Combine that depth with an absolute breakout season from goaltender Josh Doiron, who shut the door on opponents week in and week out, and you have the recipe for a dynasty.
