South West Ontario Winter Lacrosse League

Championship Sunday

The SWOLL capped off a great season with a couple of unexpected wins on Finals Sunday.

In the Megabowl, the battle for third place saw the Jukebox LacrosseFalcons taking on the Blue Lizard Productions Wolves. The Wolves narrowly missed getting into the final game in week 9 and were looking to finish the season on a winning note. The Falcons however stole the show and litterally ran away with this one. The Falcons lead out of the gate and never looked back and took the Megabowl by a final of 11-5

In the Brett Snell Cup we were excited to see more than a dozen members of the Snell family on hand to take this one in. They were treated to a fast and skilled game and were cheering the entire time. The Lacrosse Savage/ZRW Restoration & Waterproofing Inc Bull Dogs had dropped 3 straight and were looking to stem the bleeding against the surging Alpine Roof Services Bucks. The Bucks had other plans and ran circles around the once undefeated Bull Dogs. The Bucks proved too strong on this day and took that inaugural Brett Snell Cup by a final score of 10-5.

We want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters for a great first season. Special thanks to Lacrosse Savage for some prizes for our league award winners and to Jukebox Lacrosse for helping some of the guys with shafts and gear. A big shoutout goes to the fine staff at Mcmullans on Highland for putting up with this rowdy bunch afterwards as we invaded and took over the pool room to hold our banquet. The food was hot and the beer was cold and we all say THANK YOU!.

Plans are already in the works for season # 2 so be sure to stay tuned to our social media accounts as we throw you tidbits during the spring and summer to keep #SWOLL on the tip of your brain. Good luck to all players who are getting ready for camp and we hope to see you all back next season.

Pictures, Championship Page, and 2020 news upcoming!
