South West Ontario Winter Lacrosse League

Week 1 - 2025

Welcome to the Thrills and Chills of SWOLL Week 1!

The Winter Box Lacrosse League (SWOLL) blasted off with a flurry of excitement and icy antics as teams battled it out in the opening week. Despite the snow, spirits were high, and fans were treated to some great games!

First up, in what might just be the clash of the titans, the Polars faced off against the reigning champion Muskies. The Muskies came out flopping… er, flying, thanks to Andy "The Gill-net" Campbell, who netted a hat-trick faster than you can say "pass the bait!" But wait! The Polars weren't about to hibernate after Campbell's fishy dominance. They clawed their way back, melting the Muskies' early lead with deft throws and agile moves on the rink. As the game drew to a chilly close, the Muskies flexed their scales and tied things up, pushing the match into a nail-biting shootout. In a frosty finish, the Polars emerged victorious with a 13-12 win.

In game two, it was a feather-raising duel between the Wolves and Falcons. This face-off featured captains with enough rivalry to thaw even the iciest of grudges. The Falcons were all talons and teamwork as they soared above the competition. Koichi Nakamura was the high-flying hero of the night, racking up a whopping 9 points and claiming the early league scoring perch. And though the Wolves howled back valiantly with their pack tactics, the Falcons soared to a 13-9 victory, leaving the Wolves to lick their wounds.

So there you have it, folks—Week 1 of SWOLL had us all chilled and thrilled! If this opening week is any indication, we're in for a season of lacrosse mayhem that's sure to have everyone snowplowing their way to the next game. Stay tuned and stay warm!
