Week 1 Recap and Scores
We had over 70 people watching at peak attendance!!! For a 'Beer League'... on a weekday... during a snow storm!!! :)
What an opening night! In front of a very healthy crowd in a slightly chilly Queensmount arena those in attendance were treated to two fast paced and competitive games.
In game 1, the Lacrosse Savage/ZRW Restoration & Waterproofing Inc Bull Dogs got the early lead and built up a sizable lead on the Blue Lizard Productions Wolves into the middle portion of the second frame. The Wolves however were not about to turn tail and run and made a comeback attempt that fell just short. The Lacrosse Savage player of the game was Tyler Glebe as the Bull Dogs take game #1 13-9.
In game #2 we saw a much tighter affair with the Jukebox Lacrosse Falcons getting up early on the Alpine Roof Services Bucks. The Bucks managed to tie it and eventually take the lead only to have the Falcons claw back and draw even. It wasn't until mid way through the 3rd that we saw the Bucks start to pull away and over power their feathered foes. The Lacrosse Savage player of the game was Miles Cox as the Bucks join the Bull Dogs atop the standings with an 11-8 victory.

A big thanks to all of the fans who brought food donations for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region which we want to keep going all season long. We also want to thank Northland Distribution Ltd for the donation of our game balls for the season.
