SWOLL Week 3: Redemption and a Shootout for the Ages!
Week 3 of SWOLL action is in the books, and it did not disappoint! After a week of blowout losses, the matchups this week were all about redemption and high-flying offense. Let's break down the action and see how the teams fared against the Vegas lines.
Game 1: Bucks vs. Polars
Final Score: Bucks 11, Polars 8
This was a matchup of two teams looking to bounce back from embarrassing Week 2 losses. The Polars came in as -1.5 favourites, but the Bucks had other plans in a game that was chippy from the opening faceoff.
The first two periods were a gritty, back-and-forth battle. Physicality was the story early on, highlighted by a major penalty and game misconduct for the Polars in the first period. Despite the penalty trouble, the teams traded blows evenly, entering the final frame deadlocked at 6-6. Captain Andrew Coghlin added a slick behind the back pass which had the crowd going wild.
In the third, the Bucks found another gear. They rattled off a dominant run to blow the game open, capitalizing on the Polars' penalty woes to secure the win. Sean Campbell led the way for the Bucks, netting a hat trick and adding two assists to fuel the offense.
