South West Ontario Winter Lacrosse League

Week 5 Recap

It's not very often that you can speak of a time where you were playing box lacrosse indoors and could see your breath. Last night was indeed one to tell the grandkiddies as it was chilly beyond belief in the barn that is Queensmount. But the teams stuck it out and played some good ball (when the ball would actually bounce).

In the opener the Jukebox Lacrosse Falcons (0-5) had their work cut out as they played host to the undefeated Lacrosse Savage / ZRW Restoration & Waterproofing Inc Bull Dogs (5-0). The Falcons were able to keep it close for the first period and a half but the Dogs proved to be too much as they were able to pull away and move to 5-0 on the season with a 16-6 win.

The second game of the evening was a closer contest as the Blue Lizard Productions Wolves (2-3) were home to the Alpine Roof Services Bucks (3-2). In was a see saw battle all game the two teams battled hard in spite of dropping temperatures throughout the night. In the end the surging Wolves came out on top to inch closer to the Bucks in the standings with a final score of 14-12.

Thanks to those brave fans who showed up with blankets and winter gear on to support their team. Thanks for the food donations to the The Food Bank of Waterloo Region as we continue to amass items in need.
