Week 7 Recap

Another exciting week has come and gone in the SWOLL as we inch closer to the Cup. The Bull Dogs have secured their spot in the final game and are just awaiting an opponent for the March 3 matinee.

In game one last night the Bucks (5-2) found themselves in a bind as both goaltenders where out with ailment and they had to find a replacement. SWOLL exec/referee Wayne Paddick put on the gear and it was GAME ON! The Bucks built up an 8-2 lead halfway against the Falcons (0-7) through the game but the Falcons looked to take advantage of the veteran goaltender and sparked a comeback. The Falcons would eventually tie it in the third at 12-12 but the Bucks were able to find the back of the net with just over a minute left. The Bucks would hold on giving Paddick his first win in net since 1991 and put themselves in the drivers seat for the second spot in the Cup game.

In game 2 the Bull Dogs (6-1) were looking to rebound from their first loss of the season in Week 6 and were taking on the Wolves (3-4). The boys were pretty even through two frames but the Bull Dogs proved to be too much for the shortened bench of the Wolves and built up a lead that the Wolves could not overcome.

With two weeks left the Wolves need to run the table and have the Bucks lose both of their games to see a Bull Dogs/Wolves final. If the Bucks win just one more game their punch their ticket to the finals and a meeting with the dogs.

Another great night and more great lax at the Mount.
