Week 9 - 2025
A lot of playoff implications were on the line this week as we roll into the final regular season games of the 2025 season.
Standings heading into this week's games:
- Polars 5W 3L - Tiebreaker over Muskies & Falcons
- Wolves 4W 4L - Tiebreaker over Polars
- Muskies 4W 4L - Tiebreaker over Falcons
- Falcons 3W 5L - Tiebreaker over Wolves
- The Polars can secure first place with a win over the Falcons.
- Wolves can take first place with a win + Falcon win
- Muskies can take over second place with a win.
- Falcons can take over third with a win + Muskies win
- Wolves can finish last with a loss + Falcons win
GAME 1 - FALCONS VS POLARS
The Falcons showed up on Wednesday night to find themselves goalie-less! Instead of taking the forfeit, captain Taylor Best stepped up in a big way to dawn the pads and tend the goal for the birds.
The Falcons were fired up and inspired by their captain and opened the game with a quick 2 goal lead! However, over time, the Falcon offence continued to sputter with a strong goalie performance from the Polar's Aidan Kelly. Meanwhile the Polars started to chip away at the Falcons, pulling out to a 2nd period lead which they maintained until the very end.
Final score Polars 11 - Falcons 6 which locks in our semi final matchup next week where the Polars and Falcons will run it back where the Polars will Start the first and second period on the PowerPlay due to their first place finish.
GAME 2 - WOLVES VS MUSKIES
These two teams have built up a bit of a rivalry this season which was on display tonight as both team battled back and forth on the scoreboard and on the floor. The game started with a lot of big saves on both sides of the floor. The Wolves were able to really slow the game down which played into their paws. Top scorer Richard Haan broke out in the second and third period putting together a 6 goal performance. While the Muskies Campbell brothers splashed back but ultimately floundered, coming up short.
Final score Wolves 12 vs Muskies 10.
These two will also run it back next week in the semi finals! Wolves will be afforded a single PowerPlay to start the game as they finished second.
